As major holidays approach, and as a small peak in travel, air travelers will have to pass security checks. In general, passengers are often confronted with a series of routine checks, such as passports, metal items, but in practice, airport security is not always the same. In which circumstances, then, would the airport upgrade its security? Generally, security checks are upgraded in areas with significant security incidents or emergencies, high conflict levels and during major celebrations and conferences. For example, Shanghai conducted a six-month high-level airport security exercise during the World Expo. Of course, the upgrading of security levels will necessarily prolong the passage of passengers. Therefore, passengers travelling during major celebrations and meetings must arrive at the airport early to prepare for airport security upgrades, so that time is not lost.
